Spring is bursting out all over!

Today, at Costco, I bought a new camera. I had been looking for awhile, as it was a birthday present from my mom and dad. I decided on an Olympus fe-370. So, as part of my "weekend wanderings" this week, I took pictures of all the flowers that are now blooming around here, as I tried out my new camera. I still have to learn the different settings but overall it is a very easy but sophisticated camera. I like it!

The weather today was extremely nice with temperatures reaching 80 degrees! These are the types of days that I have a hard time staying indoors. So, I had no problem going outside to try out my new camera.

Weekend Wanderings

I am starting a "weekend wanderings" part to my blog. Each weekend that I get out and meander around our property, I will take my camera along with me and share the sites I see with you. If you would like to join me, please share your "weekend wanderings" and post them on your blog!

As I journeyed out on my "weekend wanderings", I noticed that everywhere I looked I saw signs of spring. What a wonderful feeling! I love the light green color that the trees begin to show as their leaves burst forth to begin another season of life. Everything looks new and fresh! Colors abound! My daughter who is 14, likes to stroll with me sometimes. The apricot blossom pictures were take by her. As I share my weekend stroll with you, I hope you'll capture the feeling that I had as I noticed these first signs of spring.

Happy Spring!

Today is the first day of spring! I love this time of year when you can get outside and start planning and planting your garden.

My summer bulbs are ready to be planted. I bought Phlox, Astilbr, Gladiolus, Dahlias and Freesias. Also, in my peat pots I have seeds started which include, sunflower, pumpkins, tomatoes, snap peas, watermelon and cantaloupe.

The weather is sunny and we are supposed to reach a high of 72. You couldn't ask for a much nicer first day of spring! Hope yours is just as nice.

This slideshow is just some random pictures of flowers I found pictures of, so you can see what I will be planting.

Projects Around The House!

It has been a busy last few weeks. The house has been in some sort of disarray for awhile and will continue to be until all the work is done.

First, some of the ceilings in our house needed redoing. There were cracks here and there. So, down came some of the Sheetrock and what a dusty mess that was! It is done now and looks really nice.

Now, a new patio and small deck is being put on the back of the house. It will look really nice when it is finished.

Next, the interior of the house will be painted and that involves moving a lot of furniture! It will look nice when it is done but I am not looking forward to the work involved! I'll be glad when it is finished.

This is just a continuation of work that was started last summer. Then, we had a sidewalk put in, in front of the house, new fencing was put around the perimeter of the yard and we had a well house built to house the well pump.

I will be adding photos to the slideshow as projects get further along.

Busy days!

Twenty-six years ago!

Last night and today I have been reflecting and remembering my life twenty-six years ago. You see, on March 4, 1983, I was
feeling the pangs of labor and anxiously awaiting the birth of my first born. I was scared, excited and wondering all at the same time!!! Am I going to have a boy or girl? Will I get through labor okay? What should I expect? Will he/she be healthy? What will he/she look like? All these questions were continually recycling through my mind. And, finally, at 2:42 a.m. on Saturday March 5, we were blessed with a daughter. Her name? Sarah Jane. I had picked that name out as a teenager when I used to write stories. I loved the name and always used it when I wrote. I then decided that when I got married and had a girl, I would name her that. I could not of asked for a better daughter...she still blesses our lives to this day. Happy Birthday Sarah!
